PPL actually has been an amazing resource for me for many years. I went to Johnson & Wales University, so this was a great place for me to come and just access books and get away from college life for a second. But, most recently, my connection to PPL has been with my kiddos.

I’m a mom of four, very close in age — 10, eight, six and four. So, PPL has been an awesome resource to me because there are a lot of programs out there that are not accessible for my family financially. This library has been an amazing place to come with them. Not only to grab books that they’re excited to read, but also the access to programming that we traditionally wouldn’t be able to do afford.

And the Library’s programs have given them life lessons as well, and to me, that has been incredible. My mom was a seamstress, and so the first class that my daughter was able to take here was a sewing class and that was very nostalgic because I didn’t get that gift to know how to do it, you know. But I love that she was able to take it on and now have that connection to her.

But, the life lesson to that is that you don’t just take something and throw it away, but, you can give it a rebirth. And the same thing with writing. She’s going to be taking a writing class, and learning how to take that one thought and expand on it and think about it. I’m so happy she will get to participate in this and she will be able to do it with her sister, who’s now old enough to be in the program. And, now this is an experience that they have together!
