Library Invites All to Come Learn with Us...
Rainy Day Brings a Flood of Visitors to Central Library as PPL Celebrates 135 Years

Central Library Open House Held Sunday, October 18

The Aristocats Local musicians, artists, performers, and authors helped PPL celebrate 135 years at the Central Library Open House on Sunday, October 18. A good number of library friends and supporters attended, despite heavy rains! Among those on hand were the popular Jazz trio The Aristocats, who delighted visitors with song and story.

Also present entertaining kids and families with his special brand of music and humor was singer/songwriter Greg Cooney. Cartoon workshop

Meanwhile, "Cartoonagrams" author and cartoonist Steve Brosnihan shared his secrets in a workshop with future cartoonists.

Visitors took part in demonstrations on varied library services, including two self check out stations, online research and homework help resources available through AskRI.org, PPL's Rhode Island Collection, including thousands of images, now available on Flickr, and more...Self Check-out
