East Side Poetry Reading Circle Has New Home at Rochambeau Library

The Rochambeau Branch of Providence Public Library and the East Side Poetry Reading Circle announce a new meeting place and time for the weekly Poetry Reading Circle. The group will meet on Wednesdays beginning September 24 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm at the Rochambeau Library, 708 Hope Street, Providence, through December 3.

Poetry buffs, and even those who haven’t read poetry since their high school or college days, are invited to join. To gain full meaning, poetry is best spoken aloud, orated, dramatized, and heightened with emotion by the reader. And though we don’t all have dramatic voices, even a timid voice adds humanity to what is read. Poetry Reading Circle members have found that the group reading experience, discussion, and personal reaction that a poem generates adds insight and enjoyment.

To register or get more information, contact Don Harper at doharper@excite.com or 751-8361. Group meetings are free and open to all.
