Neighborhood Library Learning Centers
- The Neighborhood Library Learning Centers are proposed as a third element of the Library’s effort to create a sustainable library system in the City of Providence. Conversion of existing branch buildings/resources to City or community-owned and operated Neighborhood Library Learning Centers:
- Olneyville
- Wanskuck
- Fox Point
- Washington Park
- Smith Hill
- The proposal, designed to take advantage of governmental and private funds and grants, presents a new opportunity for a City/community partnership to create a network of neighborhood-based library learning centers that provide community meeting space, books, computers, Internet access and other learning based activities that can be custom developed to meet specific needs in each community.
