Help plan for the future of arts & culture in Providence! Take this Survey

English as a Second Language (ESL) Volunteer Teachers Needed at the Mt. Pleasant & South Providence Classes

The RI Family Literacy Initiative has two opportunities for volunteers to assist in the adult ESL classes.

A volunteer on Monday and/or Wednesday nights at the Mt. Pleasant branch from 5:30-8:30. The volunteer would help intermediate level adults with learning English in the classroom.
A bilingual (Spanish/English) volunteer on Thursday nights at South Providence branch from 5:30-7:30. The volunteer would help beginner level adults with learning English and using computers.

The teachers would prepare the lesson and activities. Some teaching experience and/or experience with diverse populations is preferred. Please contact Karisa Tashjian, Literacy Coordinator, The Rhode Island Family Literacy Initiative (RIFLI), 401-455-8185, ktashjian@provlib.org.
