Ways to Give

Gifts of Cash
The simplest way to support the Providence Public Library and obtain a tax deduction at the same time is an outright gift of cash payable to the Providence Public Library.

Charge your Gift
The Library accepts Visa, Mastercard and American Express. To make your gift by credit card, please contact Nancy Ponte at 401-455-8003. She will process the gift immediately with the appropriate credit card company.

Gifts of Appreciated Securities
You can avoid capital gains tax on stock that may have appreciated over time and obtain a tax deduction on the full market value at today's price by donating stocks that may have increased in value over time.

Bequests (Planned Giving)
A gift made through a will is a way for donors to save on estate tax dollars and designate a gift to the Providence Public Library that will benefit future generations.

Gifts of Life Insurance or IRAs
Consider naming the Providence Public Library as both the owner and beneficiary of life insurance or Individual Retirement Account policies and you can receive many charitable deduction opportunities. A Providence Public Library consultant is available to provide you with additional information.

Stock Transfer Instructions
It is very important that you notify the Development Office (401) 455-8011 of your intention to make a stock transfer:
Brokerage: Paine Webber
Broker: Jack Dusel
DTC: 221
Account # RH33092

Your gift truly makes a difference in transforming lives . If you and/or your financial advisor would like to discuss an outright or planned gift to the Providence Public Library and learn of the related tax benefits and naming opportunities for which you might be eligible, please call Nancy Ponte, Development Manager, at (401) 455-8003 or at nponte@provlib.org.
